Falling pines slouchy beanie
The Falling Pines beanie, inspired by the falling pines poncho, is a top down slouchy crochet hat pattern with a cabled motif, representing the branches of a pine tree. An intermediate crochet pattern that’s a perfect Alpine addition to your winter accessories.
This crochet pattern is a great way to introduce yourself to intricate post stitch motifs, without the stress of taking on a larger project. You could consider it a practice piece either for the Falling Pines Poncho or the Southern Pines sweater patterns (also available to purchase in my designs).
Skills Used:
This pattern is intermediate level and uses front post treble crochets (US terms).
The pattern is worked in joined, unturned rounds with increases and decreases through out. Close attention to stitch placement is required.
Materials:
You will need a 3.5mm crochet hook and approximately 220m DK yarn
The item pictured used 2 balls of Swish DK from We Crochet, 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 50g ball = 112m / 123 yds in Shade ‘Arctic’
Finished size:
The hat is offered in one adult size with a finished circumference of 50cm / 20in and a height of 25cm / 12in
The pattern is written in English using standard US crochet terms.
The poncho you see pictured is also available to purchase. Details here: https://doradoes.co.uk/portfolio/the-falling-pines-cabled...
