Falmer Book Bag
The Falmer Book Bag has a strong graphical design with red detailing set against a black basketweave background. The bag features long shoulder straps and is lined with a cotton liner to transport heavy books & notebooks with ease.
There is also a matching red carabiner hook/key ring inside so you can easily locate your library card or house keys.

PATTERN INFORMATION:
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate
TECHNIQUES REQUIRED: Knitting, purling, provisional cast-on, slipped stitches, increases, working in the round, working with two colours & Swiss Darning.
SIZE: 31.5cm/12.5 ins high x 34cm/13.25 ins wide
Length from handle to mid-base: 65cm/26 ins
MATERIALS:
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton DeLux heavy worsted weight/Aran yarn, 100% cotton, 215m/236 yds:142gm/5 oz ball, in:
. Main Colour/ MC: #78040 Black x2 balls
. Contrast Colour/CC: #78705 Poppy Red x1 ball or remnant
Actual amount of yarn used in sample as shown:
. MC: 184gm/6.5 oz, 279m/306 yds
. CC: 10gm/0.5 oz, 15m/17yds
Yarn substitution: To use an alternative yarn, please select an Aran or heavy worsted weight yarn with a recommended gauge of 20 sts:10 cm/4 ins using 4.5mm/US #7 needles.
Needles: Size 4.0mm/US #6 circular needles.
Lengths: 60cm/24 ins & 100cm/40 ins.
Gauge: 18 sts & 27 rows to 10cm/4 ins in Four-&-Two Basketweave using 4.0mm/US #6 needles.

. For Provisional Cast-On: Crochet hook and small amount of waste yarn.
. Bag Liner: Cotton/linen bag, 31.5cm/12.5 ins high x 34cm/13.25 ins wide in black or co-ordinating colour.
. Handles: 1.6 m/1.75 yds x2.5 cm/1 ins cotton woven webbing in black or co-ordinating colour.
