This hat knitting pattern is no ordinary one. Although it looks like cables, it really is not. You don’t need to do any cable work what so ever.
The pattern comes in three sizes:
- Size S - head circumference 40 to 50 cm (15 to 20 inches); depth of the hat 20 cm (8 inches);
- Size M - head circumference 45 to 55 cm (17 to 22 inches); depth of the hat 25 cm (10 inches);
- Size L - head circumference 50 to 60 cm (20 to 24 inches); depth of the hat 30 cm (12 inches);
Of course, depth of the hats are adjustable and you can repeat the pattern as many times as you like.
Now, in order to knit this hat, you’ll need:
• double pointed needles size 2 mm / US 0
• double pointed needles size 3 mm / US 3 (or circulars at the same size)
• markers (optional)
• 75 g to 125 g (286 to 477 yards) 4 ply fingering yarn (for size S it took 75g (250 yds)
of 4 ply fingering yarn DROPS Baby Merino)
Tech used:
• k – knit;
• p – purl;
• YO – yarn over;
• ssk – slip, slip, knit together;
• k2tog – knit 2 together;
• p2tog – purl 2 together
• p3tog – purl 3 together
• s2kp2 – slip 2 as if to knit together, knit 1 and pass slipped stitches over the knitted
one;
