famous feet
pattern was designed to be knit on two circular needles. references to needle one are referring to the needle containing instep stitches. likewise, references to needle two are indicating the needle holding the sole stitches. however, if you prefer the magic loop method or dpns, the pattern is easily adjusted.
due to the slipped stitches, this sock is slightly less elastic. however, the smallest size will comfortably accommodate calf and foot measurements up to ten inches.
this combination of ribbing and slipped stitches makes almost a plaid effect in the knitted fabric, and it is particularly nice for variegated sock yarns.
this colorway (lunch with the knit girllls) was dyed in honor of the incomparably fun knit girllls, leslie and laura, on the occasion of their first visit to the numma numma mothership. we had lunch together at my favorite cuban place, and this sock was designed to be easy enough to knit while chatting and waiting for our congri.
leslie and laura are my foot models. how ‘bout those famous feet? they are such good sports.
the yarn used here is the usual from our studio. however, you may substitute any heavy fingering sock yarn.
