Fana Cardigan
Traditional Norwegian pattern for a cardigan in two colors, very simple stranding. I would recommend this for beginning color work knitters and anyone who likes a simple, bold design. It has stars at the shoulder and top of the sleeves, stripes, and a checkerboard pattern at the hips. It is knit on circulars from the bottom up and steeked, and the sleeves are knit on double pointed needles from the cuffs up. Edging is done in one by one ribbing.
Fits from four years to adult size “52”, presumably centimeters. Unisex pattern.
Row gauge was not specified.
It calls for yarn that is not available anymore,“Rauma 3 ply wool at about 1,000 yds per pound” but I used a sport weight, mule spun yarn from my local farmer’s market. It is made by Bartlett Yarns. Beaverslide and Marr Haven are similar. The 4 year old size takes 350 grams while the largest adult size takes 850. Sorry there is no more information.
