This is the cover project for Simply Knitting magazine 74, December 2010. It’s a woman’s fairisle jumper, featuring an all-over spotted fabric with a horizontal band of stars across the upper chest and back. It has a crew neck, drop shoulders and full-length sleeves.

The pattern takes 5-8 x 50g of recommended yarn for main colour, and 2-3 x 50g for contrast colour. The stitch chart is for the repeat pattern of the fairisle star-band only. The completed front and back sections are rectangular apart from the front neckline, so there is no armhole shaping.
