Beautiful and simply embellished fancy sushi crochet patterns. Learn some fun beading tricks and make adorable gifts for friends and family. Create spam or egg musubi (the PB&J of Hawaii and Japan), a flying fish roe roll called tobiko nigiri (either normal or wasabi flavor), followed by a tuna cucumber roll with masago eggs. Make an ikura gukan roll with gorgeous glass beads (with or without quail egg), or even akami sashimi made from felt. You can move on to Tamagoyaki (a favorite egg sushi), or hand rolled ball sushi called temarizushi. Tekkamaki thin rolls can also be made in green for kappamaki (cucumber rolls), and natto maki a soybean favorite. Make some adorable desserts to go with your bento box like sakura mochi too! 10 Patterns in all, that make an easy “customizing point” that could make dozens of similar types!
This pattern is very detailed and includes tons of photos and details. 14 pages of pattern goodness. To make “fancy” sushi you will need additional materials like grosgrain ribbon, beads, cardboard and stuffing and a sewing machine is helpful but not mandatory.
Create your own sushi bar, make ornaments for the tree, or a garland for a kitchen. These make wonderful spontaneous gifts. Druk beads from the Czech republic are recommended for their excellent shine and color.
