This is an easy pattern for someone who knows the basic stitches, chain, double crochet and treble crochet. The increasing pattern of each row quickly becomes intuitive, and once established, the three-row pattern sequence is easy to work with.

Using lace-weight yarn produces a lovely light and soft shawl that drapes beautifully, but the pattern is readily adaptable to other yarn weights (yarn length and hook size will need to be adjusted).
