The fanfan top is a cropped tank with a boxy fit, designed for plant-forward yarn blends, constructed seamlessly from the top down. The fanfan pattern will show you how to get 4 combinations of textured effects + finishes from one basic pattern–not including optional color-blocking with scrap yarn!

This garment is designed with a deep neckline and dropped armholes, but the pattern will include minor modification options for more coverage.

Fit:
Choose a 6-8” / 15.2-20.3 cm of positive ease for a breezy fit, or 2-6” / 5-15.2 cm of positive ease for a more structured silhouette. Note that using a yarn with less plant fiber may result in a drapey rather than boxy fit.

Gauge:
21 sts & 33 rounds = 4” / 10cm over stockinette stitch on US 6 / 4.0mm needles after blocking.

Needles:
US 6 / 4.0mm circular needle for working in the round and for small circumferences, for main body
US 5 / 3.75mm circular needle for working in the round and for small circumferences, for ribbing and I-Cords
Always use a main body needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 3 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, scrap yarn or cord
