Fanfare
Show your colors! The bold shapes and stripes of this oversized scarf are a great canvas for your favorite rainbow, ombre’ shades, or team colors. Express your spirit and your pride with Fanfare and wear it about town, to the game, and everywhere! It’s such a great size for wrapping your neck up cozy, draping your shoulders, or covering your lap.
Fanfare is a basic level intarsia extravaganza! A tutorial link is provided in this pattern, as well as handy tips, so it’s suitable for a starter project with this technique. Best of all, the triangles and striped ends will keep you entertained while you make this big accessory. The scarf has matching ends, due to a provisional cast on. It’s worked first in one direction toward one end. And then the provisional cast on is removed, and the rest of the scarf is worked in the other direction toward the other finished end. So fun!
The intarsia triangles are charted only, and the intarsia stripes are written. Links for both the provisional cast on and color changing in intarsia are provided in the pattern.
Put together one main color and six contrast colors to make your Fanfare. Choose high contrasts if you want the shapes to really stand out, or play it subtle with less bold values or colors. Do it your way. There are no rules for how you show your colors.
A schematic is included with the pattern and it makes a great coloring sheet for planning out your color placement!
