The number of yarn colors is at least two. Color options for inspiration are below. Seven colors of yarn were used for the socks in the picture.

NEEDLES: US 1 (2.25 mm) and US 2 (2.5 mm)

NOTIONS: marker, waist yarn.

GAUGE
34 sts/56 rounds = 4”/10 cm in pattern stitch.

CHARTS
These charts are worked using slipped stitches. Unlike Fair Isle, there are no colour changes during the round, no threads floating at the back of the work – or at the inside of the sock. Each round is worked completely in one colour. The colour changes are created by slipping the stitches.
