Farbulus
“Farbulus” - is an asymmetrically shaped shawl, knitted sideways from one short end to the other. A simple and very relaxing project, yet the alternating sections between plain stockinette and garter stitch, plus changing color blocks will keep you interested.
The instructions are for a large shawl, but also provide you with a calculation sheet to fill in and calculate your own numbers for a smaller size or a different gauge.
In addition, the pattern includes some color samples and a coloring sheet so you can experiment with different color combinations before you start.
SIZE:
Sample: 245 cm/96 ½ inch long - 40 cm/15 ¾ inch wide.
Customizable to your own preferences.
NEEDLES:
3.75 mm/US 5 circular or a pair of straight needles.
YARN:
Sample:
Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia Wool; 251 m (275 yds)/50 g).
Sample shown in colorways Old World (C1), Plume (C2),
Blanket Fort (C3), Postcard (C4) and Fossil (C5).
YARDAGE:
Sample:
C1: approx. 201 m/220 yds, (1 skein);
C2: approx. 201 m/220 yds, (1 skein);
C3: approx. 201 m/220 yds, (1 skein);
C4: approx. 201 m/220 yds, (1 skein);
C5: approx. 541 m/591 yds, (3 skeins).
GAUGE:
Gauge is not critical for this design, but it will affect the amount of yardage and the size of your finished shawl. With the calculation sheet you can easily adjust your project to a different gauge or yarn weight.
