This semi-circular shawl is worked side to side in a striping pattern. Stitches are then picked up to add a simple lace border ending in a picot bind off.

Circular needles are best to hold the number of stitches at the center of the striped section and for the pickup of the edge. If you have interchangeable needles this is a perfect project for switching cable lengths as you add stitches.

You can use any DK weight yarn. You will need approximately 220 yards each for the main color and contrasting color #1. You will need approximately 125 yards for contrasting color #2.

Gauge is not terribly important, but you may need additional yardage if you don’t get it.
