Farmhouse style dishcloth
Materials:
-Main Color-1 ball Worsted weight cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Super Size in Ecru)
-Accent Color- 1 ball worsted weight cotton yarn (Lily Sugar ‘n cream Super Size in Indigo)
-J Hook 6 mm
-scissors
-tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
CH: chain
SL ST slip stitch
HDC: half double crochet
MC: main color
AC: accent color
FO: finish off
Dimensions:
This dish cloth measures approx. 10.5” wide x 10.25” long. If you want to adjust the width, add more chains in multiples of 2 (or subtract chains in multiples of 2). Your starting chain should be an even number of chains.
Notes:
I used less than one ball for the of each color for this pattern, if you want to make the matching hand towel as well, I used just under 2 balls of the main color and less than 1 ball of the accent color to make the set.
This cloth uses the even moss stitch. The even moss stitch is worked by starting with a a SL ST followed by a HDC in the next, repeat until the last stitch (you will end with a SL ST). You always SL ST into a SL ST from the previous row, and HDC into a HDC in the previous row.
I will write out the pattern below, and I will put a concise description at the end.
