This pattern includes instructions on how to make all of the animals and tractor etc, as well as the wreath cover (including how to easily adjust the sizing to cover any sized wreath base).

This pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English using American crochet terms.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice for covering the wreath base & for making the tractor and other animals / details. I used DK weight yarn throughout this project (from a wide variety of brands). DK weight yarn is equivalent to light worsted / weight 3 yarn, although aran or worsted weight yarn would be fine to use too as the pattern will explain how to make the wreath cover the correct size in any yarn. Use the same weight yarn throughout your project. My completed tractor measures approx 6.5cm tall.

Please note - The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for any colours of your choice.

I used the following colours:

Wreath Cover:
Light blue, Brown, Light yellow, Beige, 4 shades of green (light, medium, sage & grass green).

Tractor:
Green, Yellow, Cream & Black

Other Animals / Details:
Light pink, Light yellow, Dark yellow, White, Black, Red, Beige, Light green, Dark green & Dark brown

You will also need:

A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 3.5mm hook.

A small amount of toy stuffing for the tractor.

Black & orange finer yarn or embroidery thread for adding the eyes / facial details and chick’s legs.

A 25 cm flat-backed polystyrene / Styrofoam wreath base.

A tapestry needle (the longer, the better).

You may find it useful to have some long nosed pliers (for pulling the needle through the wreath).

Other tools you will need are some scissors, some pins and a stitch marker.
