Farmor's Cowl
This beautiful cowl is knit in 2 x 2 rib and reversible cables. It is cosy and warm, and wearable because it has no wrong side.
Using aran weight yarn and large needles it is quite a quick knit.
The cowl is knit back and forth, using a provisional cast-on, and it is grafted together to make an invisible finish. Both the cast-on and the grafting can be a bit tricky if you have not done them before, but they do make a lovely finishing touch to the cowl. Video links are provided in pattern. In addition to full written instruction for kitchener grafting of rib.
Yarn:
Perleull, Oslo Mikrospinneri (160m/100gr)
Drops Air, Drops Yarn (150m/50gr)
Yardage: 550 - 600m
Needles: 8mm/US 11 straight needle or circular, and cable needle
Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows in rib
Notions: Darning needle
It is not really important to obtain the correct gauge.
The pattern has both written and charted instructions.
