Farnese is a modern triangle shaped shawl and takes its name after the amazing Farnese gardens on the Palatine Hill, Rome. I was very inspired after visiting the gardens when they were in full bloom in June.
The texture on the body of the shawl is created by a garter stitch and all over repeat of botanical lace pattern that is finished off with a garter stitch border. The border is shaped using short rows. I-cord bind off helps create a final extra touch to the edge. Optional tassels add more character to this beautiful warm shawl. The Farnese pictured is knitted with mYak Baby Yak Medium which makes this shawl both very light and warm.
This pattern has written and charted instructions.

Finished measurements: The sample is 78” / 200 cm wingspan and 30.75”/ 78 cm deep.

Materials:
• Yarn: 5 skeins of mYak Baby Yak Medium. 125 yards/ 1.76 ounces, 114 meters/ 50 grams, 100% yak; Approx. 620 yards/ 570 meters of worsted weight yarn that knits up to the gauge. The sample was knit using mYak Baby Yak Medium in Ochre.
• Suggested Needles: US 8 (5 mm) circular needles
• Notions: 4 stitch markers, darning needle

Gauge: 14 stitches and 28 rows per 4 inches/ 10 cm after blocking with US 8 (5 mm) needles in Garter Stitch. Gauge is not crucial for this project but may affect finished measurements and yardage. If you are a loose knitter you may need additional yardage/metrage.
