“This design was inspired by aspects of modernist architecture in the fascinating city of Faro, Portugal,” explains Emma Vining. “Many of the buildings have large areas of tiled mosaics with intricate patterns. One particular tile pattern consists of rectangles in an interlocking design, and I have used knit and purl stitches to form a textured multi-directional knitted fabric.” Emma’s cardigan is knitted in Cascade 220, which comes in a huge choice of appealing colours.
