Faroese Kevat Shawl
This is a pattern for a top-down, Faroese-shaped shawl that can be knitted in a variety of yarns – from lace weight to worsted or even heavier.
It has the Faroese shoulder shaping so that it does not ‘ride up’ in the neck and sits firmly on the shoulders, and the wings are long enough that they can be bound in the back to make it an utilitarian shawl.
For the first Kevät with 7 center leaves, I used 188 g of 100% silk noil yarn on cone, light fingering weight 3-ply (1900 y/pound), which should be 6.63 oz, which could, should, or might be the equivalent of 790 yards or thereabouts.

Errata/Explanation:
Neckband:
the two rows of Garter stitch are a good opportunity to make those separation stitches – either by picking up the running thread between stitches, or by YO.
