Pattern Notes:
~ Gauge for this pattern is not too important but for reference my gauge is 5 double crochet and 1 row in a 1” swatch.
~ Fasten off: To fasten off, leave loop on hook, cut yarn leaving approx. 6” tail. Pull the tail through the loop, tightening it to fasten.
~ Join: To join, slip stitch into the top of the stitch that you started the row with.
~ Elastic hair tie: To make the scrunchie you’ll be crocheting around an elastic hair tie. You can find these at most convenience stores, drug stores, and even grocery stores. Or, you can use a strand of elastic tied in a knot to make a circle.
~ Changing yarn color: To change colors you’ll finish the last step of your last stitch by bringing in the new color. This means when you join at the end of step 4, you’ll finish the slip stitch by bringing in the new color. Alternatively, you can join as usual with the main color, fasten off, and then tie on the new color into that same stitch.
~ Photos: Don’t forget to look at the photos. It can be very helpful to look at the photos for visual clarification on how to do certain steps in the pattern.
