Please note that if you are getting holes at the increases there is something wrong with the way you are working the M1L and M1R increases. The base of the stitches should be twisted - resulting in a left-leaning slant on the M1L and a right-leaning slant on the M1R. The M1R and M1L instructions are correct in the pattern.
