This is an easy pattern, suitable even for beginner crocheters who want to practice crocheting in the round. It works up very quickly, you can make a neck warmer in a couple of hours, a nice pattern for last minute gifts.

It uses widely available worsted weight yarn. The neck warmer size uses only one skein of yarn (about 200 yards).

The pattern is versatile, you can make a neck warmer as shown in the photo or a big cowl to wrap several times around your neck.

The cowl is crocheted in an interesting but very easy shell pattern.
