Faux Entrelac Cowl
This cowl came about by learning crochet cabling in the pattern Sólás Caomh by Jodi Euchner (Interweave Crochet, Spring 2009).
I loved the construction of crochet cables so much and how this particular stitch sequence looks like entrelac. It’s much easier to construct that it looks. Great for beginners understanding front and back post.
The size I made went from around the neck down to the chest. It’s also still long enough at that size to twist around your neck twice. Gauge really doesn’t matter for this pattern -it’s forgiving. But for those that need some kind of parameter, it should be about 3.5-4 inches wide.
I used less than a full skein of Lion Brand Homespun. While a good, bulky yarn and hides mistakes, another spun yarn less rushed would show the stitch details much more clearly.
