The main pattern on these socks uses a cunning combination of yarnovers and decreases to create a lacy motif which has the the criss-crossing look of entrelac, but without all that tedious turning-the-work-every-few-stitches which entrelac requires.
Skills required

- purling
- yarnovers
- increasing
- decreasing
- working small circumferences in the round (DPNs, two circulars, or magic loop)
- short rows with wrapping and turning and working the wraps back into the knitting
- Judy’s Magic Cast-On or other method which allows you to cast on in a closed tube
- Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off or other method which creates a stretchy bind-off edge
