My faux fox stole is finally (almost) available in book form! Hurrah!

First published it Knit Today and now in my debut book, Faux Taxidermy Knits, this fox knitting pattern is cute, contemporary and a little quirky.

It’s an easy project to have on the go in front of the TV on those cold nights, as you can happily knit away until you get to the shaping. Knitted in st st with some kfbs and k2togs this project is aimed at beginner – intermediate knitters. And once it’s complete you’ll have your own lovely faux fox scarf without any foxies coming to harm.

With fabulously long skinny legs and a shapely tail it’s the perfect scarf for any fashionable animal lover. And if your fox needs a friend why not check out my badger scarf available as a Ravelry download. I recommend Stylecraft Life DK in Copper as personally it’s my favorite fox coloured yarn, but why not try making one in cream or grey for an artic twist!

The materials you’ll need are:
Stylecraft Life DK – Copper x 2 balls (326 yards/298 meters per 100g)
Stylecraft Life DK – Cream x 1 ball (326 yards/298 meters per 100g)
Stylecraft Life DK – Black x 1 ball (326 yards/298 meters per 100g)
4mm Straight Needles
10 mm black plastic toy eyes and washers
10 mm black plastic nose (or use another eye) and washer

Dimensions
189cm x 12cm / 74 ½ in x 4 ½ in

Tension
22 stitches x 30 rows to 10 cm / 4 in over st st

Knitting Techniques
Knit, Purl, St st, Kfb, Kfbf, K2tog

Top Tip:
To make your scarf longer or shorter just add or subtract the rows in the body section. Remember if adding a lot more rows you’ll need an extra ball of copper yarn!
