Faux Freeform Hood
This is a great stash buster! You can use as many (or as few) colors as you like. The addition of the fun and fluffy yarn is completely optional and you can use is as much (or as little) as you want! I used Red Heart Super Saver due to is amazing color choices, but any equivalent yarn will work.
I made this pattern for those that love freeform but aren’t quite comfortable yet without a pattern. This pattern has been tested for errors and is ready for your personalization!
There are a few stitches that may be new to you-one being the bullion stitch. I do provide a link to a tutorial I made for this stitch. I warn you, it is a little tricky, but it gives such a fun and unique look to your piece you will fall in love with it. A love/hate relationship that is. It is only used for a few rows of this piece so you aren’t stuck repeating it over and over again. This is a great project to introduce you to the bullion stitch and get a little practice on it. The other stitch is not difficult, but may be a tad confusing in written form, so there is a video link for that tutorial as well. All my video tutorials are quick and to the point-no musical intros! ;)
I also provide a photo bank at the end of the pattern to help guide you through making your hood. This will help save ink if you do not wish to print out a gazillion photos-so do be careful when printing if you do not want to print out the last two pages of photos!
Gauge: Following pattern, after step 6, circle should measure 5” across
