These are for people who love to go barefoot and want to extend the barefoot season. Keep your ankles warm and still walk freely on the ground without socks. Or wear them in winter with open shoes.

They can be made with some remnant yarn (I did). Gauge is not terribly important, to customize, just use a number of stitches that will fit you in a sock, plus 4 stitches for the knitted-on button band. The Ankle Warmers are knit flat and closed with buttons so you can slip them on and off without having to pull them over the foot/shoe, which comes in handy in wet and muddy street conditions.

Any fingering sock yarn will work and you’ ll need about a quarter of a skein or more, if you want them to be longer. The lower part is made from fun fur - use any you like.
