Faux Rib Winter Headband
The Faux Ribbed Winter Headband is designed to be a quick, easy project to work on during busy school mornings and shuffling everyone between games and practices. It’s easy to whip one of these up within an hour and perfect for last minute gifting.
This pattern is written in 2 sizes - a child size (~19” head circumference) and an adult size (~22” head circumference). With no hard-set stitch repeat, feel free to add or remove stitches as needed for the perfect fit! Both are written with 10% negative ease in mind.
The child size headband generally comes out to between 30-40 yards of yarn, while the adult size comes out to about 35-45 yards. Using Wool-Ease solids, I’ve been able to get a set of headbands out of 1 skein of yarn. This may vary between skeins, however.
This pattern features two special techniques - the Foundation Half Double Crochet Chain and working through the 3rd loop of stitches. A tutorial and an alternative chain method can be found in the pattern and an explanation (with photos) can be found in this pattern for how to work through the 3rd loop of stitches.
Happy Stitching!
