Favorite Things Shawl
As featured in KnitCrate’s Crochet Crate for June 2017.
I had the amazing privilege of working with the awesome team at KnitCrate for this beginner shawl design for their June 2017 CrochetCrate that incorporates two of my favorite stitches: the half double crochet and the V stitch.
This is a great basic pattern with an easy to remember repeat, perfect for the beginning crocheter looking to try a triangle shawl pattern and the experienced crocheter who’s searching for that perfect pattern to work up on movie night. It’s also an ideal pattern for comfort and prayer shawls.
And…it’s easily adjustable to any size. Make it smaller as a mini, neck warming accessory, or use up that large large lot of fingering in your stash so it can envelope you in its embrace.
While this design is ideal for any weight of yarn, it’s especially lovely in Red Head Fibers Fingering. It’s more of a light fingering, so I scaled my hook down to an E but may go as high as a G if I were using heavier fingering yarn. Allison’s Red Head Fibers Fingering is cuddly soft with a delicate drape. It’s 100% superwash merino so it holds on tight to your blocking.
Here’s hoping this design becomes one of your favorite things!
