Mesh lace in a checkerboard pattern is paired with a simple eyelet border to create a light and lacy shawl, perfect for a breezy spring or summer day.

FINISHED SIZE: 61” wide x 21” deep.

YARN: 465 yds fingering weight wool or wool blend.
Shown in Miss Babs “Avon” (85% Merino Wool, 15% Silk; 490 yds/100 g) - Oak Moss.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 24” (60cm) circular needle.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Tapestry needle, stitch markers (optional).

GAUGE: 24 sts/28 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner. Techniques include increases, decreases, and yarnovers.

CONSTRUCTION: Beginning with two stitches, the triangular shape is knit end to end, with increases worked to the midpoint and then decreases worked to the end. The border is worked at the same time as the body of the shawl.
