Feather and Fan Out Top
I was intimidated by the sport weight yarn in my stash for much too long! Then I finally decided to dig into it with this knit baby top pattern. It features a simple top-down construction and a feather and fan lace bodice detail with a slight ruffle flare at the bottom. This is such a great, compact project to take on the go, fitting on small circular needles and only taking two balls of a weight category 2 yarn like Millamia Naturally Soft Merino or Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.
All you need to create this top is a 4mm (US 6) circular needles long enough to accommodate 150-200 stitches. I was able to make the whole 12 month size on 16” circular needles which was so fun and easy!
This is an intermediate pattern that requires knowledge of basic stitches and increases as well as how to bind off and cast on in the middle of your work.
Includes instructions for sizes 6 months, 12 months and 24 months. The 12 month size is pictured on a husky 11 month old.
