This is a simple crochet winter hat, with a slip stitch band and a feather stitch body. The pattern was developed as a generous size that fits most teenaged/adult women, but suggested adjustments to the pattern are given for sizes from baby to women’s large. I use Winterglow by Hobbii which I find is a very light worsted weight; other worsted wool or wool blends should work as long as they are on the light side. Measurements are given in the pattern as well as row counts. One women’s medium hat uses less than 1/2 of 1 skein of Winterglow. Clarification on gauge; gauge is given only for the body of the hat: 8 feather stitches OR 16 single crochet per 4 inches/10cm, and 14-15 rows of feather stitch per 4 in/10cm with a 5mm hook. You don’t necessarily need to calculate gauge to follow the pattern. Please email me with any questions.
