Learn to crochet the feather stitch! This one-row repeat is about to become a new favorite stitch for your next baby blanket project.

I cannot get enough of this texture!!

Similar to the puff stitch, the feather stitch is created by inserting your hook and yarning over several times to get seven loops on your hook. Then you yarn over and pull through all seven loops. The feather stitch’s unique appearance is achieved through inserting your hook in three different places as you create the stitch. Once you get the hang of it, this is a super mindless pattern!

I made this blanket for a dear coworker expecting her first baby. She happened to love the colors I used in my Pretty in Panels Stitch Sampler Crochet Baby Blanket, and I was excited to use a similar colorway for her gift.

The blanket is completed with a camel stitch border for a cozy finish. I love the camel stitch border and have used it often.

I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Materials

Brava Worsted Weight 4 Medium (100% Premium Acrylic, 218yd/200m, 3.5oz/100gm):
Color A: 1 skein Persimmon
Color B: 1 skein Candy Jar Stripe
Color C: 1 skein Cotton Candy
Color D: 1 skein Blush
Color E: 1 skein Rosebud Speckle

I Love This Yarn! Weight 4 Medium (100% Acrylic, 355yds/325m, 7oz/198g) Ivory 1 skein

NOTE: Brava Worsted does not come in Ivory, which was my vision for the border color. If you’d prefer to make the whole blanket in Brava Worsted, I’d suggest picking a favorite color from the body of the blanket and ordering two extra skeins for that color. For example, I think Blush would make a lovely border color, too.
