Featherdown
When Kim first shared the Fairy Tale theme with me, I was completely stumped. I could not think of many fairy tales that I can identify with (even though, messy and crazy, my life feels like a modern fairy tale on some days). Then, I realized that Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling was also considered a fairytale.
For this pattern, I didn’t want anything that was too complex. Something simple that could show off the soft, downy colorway. The Featherdown cable pattern was perfect—along a smooth-sailing stockinette stitch, life gives you a twist. Then another. At first, it seems like a mess, but in the end, it pulls together a beautiful pattern of chaos and cleanliness. The kind that only comes from transformation.
