This is the second monthly installment in the Sunshine Charlotte Scarf CAL 2016. These scarves are meant to be crocheted through the year and then donated at the end of November by tying them around trees and posts in areas where needy people might have access to them. I am starting this project as a pre-Christmas way to honor my baby girl, who lost her fight to cancer in July 2015. Crocheting helps with the grief, and I love to use the finished items to give to others.

This scarf uses my new favorite stitch: the berry stitch. I would say an alternate name for this scarf could be the Berries and Cream scarf, and worked up in this burgundy and white, it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day! The pattern repetition allows you to create a cowl, an infinity scarf, or a regular non-seamed wrap scarf…whatever makes you happy. I personally prefer it as a tall cowl to show off the beautiful texture!

If you want to be a part of the Crochet Along for 2016 and donate your monthly scarves in November, go to my designer page and look for my CAL purchase option!
