Welcome to our 2025 Birthstone Blanket Crochet-a-Long! This blanket series will have 12 different and fun stitch sampler squares, this listing is for the February Double Crochet Cluster pattern.

Each stitch sample can be used for all sorts of projects outside of the blanket crochet-a-long and can be made with any yarn type for whatever project you have in mind! To follow along with the Birthstone Blanket CAL, you will need approximately 105-180 yards of worsted weight yarn. This pattern uses basic stitches and is considered beginner-friendly.

Using the hook and yarn suggested (size 4 medium weight yarn, 5.50 mm hook), the Double Crochet Cluster Sampler square at 16 rows (without the single crochet border) measures approximately 11.5” (29 cm). This square pattern can be made with any number of starting chains (in multiples of 2 + 2) and rows for other projects.

Materials:

• 5.50 mm hook
• 200 yards worsted weight yarn in a Garnet color
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure
• Row counter (optional, but helpful)
