Materials:
Raffia yarn “eco Andaria” (Hamanaka, Japan) (100% viscose/natural raffia), 80 m / 40 g 88 yds / 1.4 oz; 2.5 skeins.
Regilene boning – 3 strands

Tools:
crochet hook 3.5 mm US4/4, UK/Can between 9 and 10rochet a gauge swatch and make sure that your gauge matches the one listed in the pattern, if your stitches are smaller = you have more stitches than listed in 10 cm 4 in, use a larger hook, if you have fewer sts = your sts are larger, use a smaller hook).

Gauge:
10 cm 4 in = 20 rounds and 16 sts

Gauge swatch: Before starting the actual hat, crochet a chain of 20, join into the round, and work a few spiral rounds. Measure the gauge swatch on the right side of the fabric (the outside of the crocheted tube).

Right side and wrong side gauge: For ease of measuring, the gauge swatch is measured on the outside of the tube, but please keep in mind that all stitch counts later in the actual headwear will be based on the inside of the item (the wrong side of the crocheted fabric) = the one that matches the head circumference of the wearer. Owing to the thickness of the crocheted fabric, there will be a difference of +0.5 st between the two sides. If you are just following the instructions and are not interested in how I arrived at the stitch counts or graded the sizes, you can just ignore this additional bit of informatio
