Feeling Beachy
This is a crescent shawl, worked top down, finished with a simple knitted on border.
I love walks on the beach. Since childhood the beach holds memories of treasured family time. I created this shawl to look like the beach. The broken seed stitch for the sand, and the simple knitted on border as the ebbing waves.
Final Measurements: 68” wingspan X 17.5” deep
Materials: 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn. I used Handmade By Zan Super Sock 85% SW Merino/15% Nylon. MC 1 skein, 436 yards/100 grams in the Sandcastle colorway. CC 2 skeins, sample used approx. 125 grams/547 yds in the Mermaid Tale colorway.
Size 5(3.75 mm) 32”-40” circular needles to help hold all stitches. 1 Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
