Felix Blanket Remixed
This blanket is the perfect scrap busting project and is a fun twist on corner to corner (C2C) crochet. Each colored block is worked completely before moving on to the next meaning this design is achieved without bobbins (yay!). I personally find it very satisfying watching the pieces layer together and with endless color possibilities, no two blankets will ever be alike, unless you want them to be! If you worked my original Felix Blanket, then I think you will absolutely love this new take on it.
I have put together several PDF files for you! The first is a massive, step-by-step tutorial from start to finish with pictures for every row of the blanket worked. I released this blanket as part of a crochet along and it can also be found on my blog over the course of 6 posts with each post being released weekly (starting May 19, 2022). This PDF version not only gives you access to the complete pattern immediately, but also provides an opportunity to easily scroll through the pattern on a device without jumping around to different webpages. In the second file, I consolidated the instructions and removed all of the pictures, so you have a version you can easily print and carry along in your project bag. I included the border as it’s own document because I think you will love it and want to use it for other projects. Finally, as a bonus, I included a couple of charts (color and black/white versions), including a labeled, colored version that you could use to even more concisely work this design after you understand the technique.
Thank you so much for your support! I hope you enjoy working up this project. If you make this and love it, please consider adding this pattern to your favorites, linking your pictures or tagging me on social media so I can admire your work :) Please understand that as this pattern is available for download immediately upon purchase that I cannot offer refunds.
SUPPLIES:
This is an excellent project to use up those scraps and if you go that route, I recommend sticking with yarn with comparable weights. You can certainly buy yarn for this project too! I think you will need to use a minimum of 4 colors to best showcase the design. I chose worsted weight yarn (and used 9 colors), but you could use anything. I recommend sizing your crochet hook down a hair to keep your stitches tight, but that is just my personal preference.
Worsted weight yarn (#4) – I used Impeccable (4.5 oz/285 yd)
o Sapphire
o Smoke
o Lippy
o Coral
o Deep Forest
o Green Lagoon
o Rich Orchid
o Teal
o Aqua
• 4.5 mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Darning/Yarn needle
• Stitch marker
Happy Crocheting!
