Felted Cat Toys
Pattern for Butterflies, Honey Bees and Spiders!
Lots of legs and wings provides hours of entertainment for the kitten we adopted from our local shelter. As Turbo wanted to play with my yarn balls it seemed easier to support his yarn interest by teaching him that if it was felted it was his toy while wound yarn balls were Grandma’s and therefore “no”. My love of beekeeping started the felted toys with Halloween spiders and spring butterflies to follow. We store the toys in a Felted Carnival Tent Basket (pattern available on our website at www.ColettesGarden.com) which he can open on his own. Some mornings we awaken to a bug infestation in the living room but he is quiet and self-entertained. Rubbing the toys in catnip adds interest. The bugs are stuffed with wool ends (rather than batting) so once felted they are very durable. As with all pet items, check for safety; damaged items should be replaced.
