This is a wonderful project for beginners or those who need a quick easy project. At our boutique, Purl, this is our Knitting 1 class. Teaching beginners to knit in a circle is much easier than having them start flat. It allows them to focus on mastering the knit stitch, and nothing else. The continual knitting helps them commit the stitch perfectly to muscle and brain memory, setting them up for easy success as all following skill come very naturally.

Number of cast on stitches can be altered to create a smaller clutch (co 50sts for kids) or larger clutch for whatever purpose you chose.

The basic concept of the clutch is to knit it to the proportions you desire and it will felt keeping that same shape (if pre-felted it is short and wide, post felting it will be short & wide!).
