I love felted bags and multicolored projects, but working with two or more colors at once can be challenging when it comes to felting. Color-work areas may shrink more than solid areas, and unfortunately knitters won’t know this until a project is already knit and felted. To avoid this problem, Here I mixed stripes and entrelac, working large sections in each color. This ensures that the colors remain distinct, because small color patterns may blur and blend together as the stitches shrink and become matted during the felting process.

Stockinette stitch works well for felting because it has no texture and in most cases any fancier stitch work would be lost in the felting process. Circular entrelac provides a fast way to combine colors in a project. The entrelac pattern is easy to memorize even though the instructions may seem daunting to a first-time entrelac knitter.
