Hat is knit from brim to tip on 10.5 or 11 dpns and circular needles with one strand of bulky yarn. It can easily be knit from tip to brim, which reverses the direction of the spiral! Fits most adults (shrink and stretch to fit as all felteds are).

Once it is felted the spiral detail is muted but not entirely lost, lets you twist and bend the “cone” up for that disreputable wizard look.

This hat could also be done up in a jewel color and decorated with beads, charms and amulets for the Harry Potter fan.
