Baskets especially holiday baskets are great decorating items. My pattern even can be used as a gift pattern to someone or it can be knitted and felted as a gift item.

It is an easy pattern and uses simple techniques like stockinette stitch, I-cords, increases stitch. The felting process also described in the pattern and it is pretty simple and can be done at home.

I have not any gauge since it is felted basket anyway. It can be done in any sizes in the pattern. You only adjust the row numbers that you want to complete the basket. Keep in mind, your basket will shrink almost 40% after felting.

This basket is knitted with 180 yards of wool yarn. You will have a little bit left over. If you wish you could add stripes with a contrasting color at the sides of the basket.
