Handmade decorations and ornaments add a personal touch to holiday celebrations. It is a joy to put them up and reminisce about who made them and when. Plus, at a time of year that can be hectic and stressful, slowing down to make something by hand is a true pleasure. This stocking is sure to become a treasured family heirloom.

Our sample is customized with embroidery in white wool yarn. You can easily add more colours, buttons, sequins, and beads to make your stockings completely unique.

The supplies needed to make this stocking are available as a kit in-store and online. The kit includes the Felted Holiday Stocking pattern, two balls of Berroco Lanas, a locally-made leather loop, two Chicago screws, and a small amount of cotton yarn for basting. The sample in the photos is the Snowflake kit colourway.

49.5 cm/19.5” circumference, 84 cm/33” long.
After felting
37 cm/14.5” circumference, 50 cm/19.5” long.
The finished size will be determined by the felting process.

5.5 mm (US 9) 40cm/16” circular needle and DPNs OR
5.5 mm (US 9) 100 cm/40” circular needle for magic loop

GAUGE
19 sts and 24 rows = 10 cm/4” in stockinette in the round, before felting. Changes in gauge will affect meterage required and finished size, but the felting process will allow you to customize the finished size.
