The mittens are made by using the Icelandic unspun wool double. It can be bought in several places. At the Icelandic handknitting society https://handknitted.is/is/, Thingborg https://thingborg.is/voruflokkur/thingborgar-lopi/ and other smaller shops.

As they are felted, they are very warm. If you use the Icelandic wool, they will be nearly waterproof as well. And even wet, they are warm.

The gauge is not very important but is used as a guide. I used both the smaller and the larger needles and had good results both times.

These mittens are felted, made of unspun Icelandic lopi or other similar yarn. They can be knitted with or without a separate ribbing. When felting, it is always good to start with less whether it is by hand or a machine. Also, straight after felting, put them on the owners hands for sizing.
The small finger addition makes it good to hold the rein.

So, happy knitting and riding!
