Felted Market Square
Knit with just two colorways of Noro Kureyon, this unique market bag features a colorful checkerboard pattern in sturdy felted wool! This pattern is written for just one size, but you can vary the finished size by the degree that you full or felt the bag.
Construction of this bag is quite easy (and felted fabric hides a myriad of sins); but it does require techniques such as picking up stitches, basic stranded colorwork, casting on stitches during a row, and I cord bind off. Pattern includes some helpful tips for these techniques, plus a guide for felting the bag.
Choose two colorways of Kureyon that are completely different – don’t try to match or repeat colors between skeins. You don’t want your MC and CC to match at all – more color variation is best.
Take the guesswork out of color choices - Kits are available from YarnScout in four different color themes. Kits include a print copy of the pattern, too. Main image here is the Kosai colorway kit; the tan bag shown in the second image is the Soma colorway kit.
