Just look at this adorably inquisitive Fennec Fox.

This Fennec Fox is suitable for intermediate knitters and assumes and understanding of basic stitches, short rows and standard knitting terms. Our Fennec Fox is knit flat and sewn together using a mattress stitch.

If you’re new to knitting stuffed friends, or are uncomfortable winging it without strict guidelines (that’s OK, we all need good directions sometimes to help us out) you will need approximately 75 m of medium weight brown yarn, 35 m of medium weight cream yarn, 2 m of medium weight dark brown yarn and 2 m of medium weight pink yarn. With this yarn, use 4 mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need a small amount of black yarn to embroider the face, stuffing (we use ecofil or wool) and a tapestry needle to sew your Fennec Fox together. This will let you create a Fennec Fox that’s approximately 23 cm (9 inches) high, 15 cm (6 inches) deep and 10 cm (4 inches) wide.

The beauty of knitting stuffed friends is that this pattern can be knit in any size yarn with accompanying needles. Generally we find using a size or two smaller needles than required by the yarn allows for the tightness needed when you’re stuffing your finished product.
