Fennel Seed Jacket
The Fennel Seed Jacket is a relaxed-fit raglan cardigan featuring a simple broken rib texture and neat double knitted details. It is knitted from the top down, with the body being knitted flat and the sleeves later being added in the round. Stitches are picked up for the double knitted button band, and finally a double knitted collar is knitted.
Sizes: (A, B, C) (D, E, F) (G, H, I)
Measurements: The sizes are designed to fit a natural bust measurement of (75, 85, 95) (105, 115, 125) (135, 145, 155) cm with around 15cm of positive ease.
Needles: 5mm circular needles (80 or 100cm lengths) for the broken rib body, 4mm circular needles (80 or 100cm lengths) for the ribbing, 3.5mm circular needles (80 or 100cm lengths) for the double knitted details. If you do not wish to use the magic loop technique for the sleeves, you will also need short circular needles or DPNs in 4.5mm and 5mm sizes.
Gauge: 16 stitches x 22 rows per 10cm in broken rib on 5mm needles.
Yarn: Heavy Merino by Knitting for Olive
(8, 8, 9) (9, 10, 10) (11, 12, 13) skeins.
Held with Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive
(5, 5, 5) (6, 6, 6) (7, 8, 8) skeins.
Alternatively substitute this yarn suggestion for your preferred aran-weight yarn that meets gauge. It will require approximately (900, 1000, 1050) (1100, 1200, 1250) (1350, 1500, 1600) m in total.
