Ferdinand is the sixth member of the 2024 Happy Scrappy Cat Project. During the course of 2024 a new and unique cat pattern will be released on the first and third Friday of each month. Ferdinand will be free to view and use on the Hateruma Handmade blog beginning March 15, 2024. At that time the pattern will be able to be worked as part of a crochet along group at Hateruma Handmade Community on Facebook. I would be so happy to see you there.

Ferdinand is about 8.25” from his toes to the top of his head when worked in #4 medium worsted weight acrylic. He’s sized to be the perfect take-along friend.

The most difficult part of Ferdinand is the color changes on his face. But those can be ignored if you are not comfortable with color changes.

The Happy Scrappy Cats are all designed with #4 medium worsted weight acrylic yarn and a 3.0mm hook. I did not use more than 60g of the main color for any of the designs. Being a scrap project I began to use up random remnants in my personal yarn stash, there is no specific color or brand to recommend. Please choose colors and brands to your own taste, just make sure they are all the same weight.
